Cocktails at the Castle, the “museum party done right,” returns to the American Swedish Institute with Chroma Craze
This fall bash is inspired by the bold colors and progressive perspective of the Gudrun Sjödén – A Colourful Universe exhibition, drawing energy from the renowned Swedish fashion/textile designer’s vibrant installations displayed throughout the Turnblad Mansion. We're spinning the color wheel for an indoor/outdoor celebration chock full of live music and performance with plenty of hands-on activities. FIKA Café is serving fine food and cocktails. It's a night full of chromatic craziness.
The night kicks off with music by the FiAMMA Disco Queens, followed by Tacky Annie’s irresistible, indie mash-up of rhythmic bass, cello quartets and electro-driven poetry and Mina Moore’s mixed groove of soul, R & B and pop. Stir the color waves with the Bollywood Dance Scene and hook up with the Science Museum of Minnesota for a color burst experiment. Juxtaposition Arts will be doing live mural painting and there will be a photo booth on site. Pair your FIKA food and crafted cocktails with a Swedish Åh Snaps drinking song session and you have yourself a party. Top the night off toeing the dance line with Hennepin County Disco Authority.
